Site - Marble Museum of Vila Viçosa, Vila Viçosa

In 2013, the Marble Museum was reinstalled next to the way to Borba, taking advantage of the facilities (renovated for this purpose) and the humanised landscape in the surroundings of the Gradinha's quarry. The Museum opened to the public in 2000, combining, since then, in one space, the fundamental aspects of the extractive industry. The Museum offers to the visitors precious information about the past and the present of an activity dating back to Roman times.
