Within the S. Mamede de Infest Laboratory facilities is the Portuguese Mineral Deposits Museum. In this location is an important representation of mineral paragenesis of Portuguese Mineral deposits which were explored, or are currently explored, as mines, which gives these individual characteristics. The mineral deposits represented in the Museum are of various types, of which due to its current and recent past economic importance, we highlight the so called Alentejo Pyritical Strip, (Lousal, Aljustrel, S. Domingos), iron- maganese (Cercal), tin-tungsten (Panasqueira, Borralha), gold (Jales - Três Minas), uranium (Urgeiriça) and others.
