The Castelo Branco Environmental Interpretation Centre is dedicated to the Natural Parque of the International Tejo (PNTI), one of the most important protected areas of the the Naturtejo Geopark, also classified as a Biosphere Reserve. This is a region of renowned importance for birding, where the rock cliffs of the International Tejo Valley and its affluents play a fundamental role in the conservation of this wildlife. This is an interactive exposition which focuses on the diverse aspects of natural heritage through 14 interactive applications. The ecosystems and habitats, fauna, flora, geology, and soil are addressed. It is possible to make a virtual geological cut, starting at the Tejo and along the River Erges, exploring the main units and geological structures. It is also possible to take a virtual trip along the Tejo River in a kayak controlled by the visitor, which simulates the descent down the river and explores diverse natural aspects.
