CIVGLAZ - Interpretation Centre of the Zêzere Glacial Valley, Manteigas
The Interpretative Centre of the Zêzere Glacial Valley, inaugurated on March 4, 2013, aims at showing other perspectives and visions of the Zêzere Glacial Valley and the tourist potential of the Municipality of Manteigas. A unique equipment in the region and that works as an excellent means of attracting visitors and spreading the territory. The main attraction of the Interpretative Centre is a simulator that recreates a balloon / airship trip along the Zêzere Glacial Valley. A walk where the visitor will travel virtually over the area, natural heritage, with an extension of 13 kilometers, punctual retreats in time, jumps of thousands of years, with the use of 3D representations to better understand the phenomenon of glaciation . The Interpretive Center also has two "windows" for Manteigas (present and past), interactive pictures about the predominant fauna and flora in the Valley, a module on pedestrian paths and the story of a history related to forestry activity (Forest Guards house) in a setting created around the existing fireplace in the building.
