Geosite Bornes South Panorama, Serra de Bornes

Located on the southern side of the Bornes Sierra, the viewpoint "Bornes South panorama" provides a excelente point of view of the Vilariça fault and also beyong the territory of the Terras de Cavaleiros UNESCO Global Geopark. In the distance, we can observe the great valley of the Vilariça depression, bounded by an abrupt scarp fault to the east. The Vilariça fault extends over 250 km, from Portelo, north of Bragança, to the central massif of the Serra da Estrela.
