Originally, the power plant was responsible for supplying power to the industrial mining complex of Lousal and its population (1934-1992). After some years of inactivity, since 2001, the museum plays an important role in the context of industrial archeology.

Activity Description:
The Education Department of the Mining Museum of Lousal aims to boost the relationship of the educational community in the context of industrial archeology.

Target Audience:
The Mining Museum of Lousal educational service offers guided tours especially designed to school groups (nursery, primary, secondary, university and special education) through a fun, rigorous and pedagogical speech adequate to different educational levels. With a participative approach, we aim to provide teachers, professors and students the appropriate tools for the understanding of the historical memory of the place and its industrial heritage.
