History Patrimony:
In 1994, members of the Torrejana Society of Speleology and Archeology discovered a set of footprints, organized in at least 20 trails, of large Jurassic herbivores, in Pedreira do Galinha. In September 1996, the State finally reached an agreement with the businessman who owned the quarry, Rui Galinha and at that time, it was classified as a Natural Monument, being officially designated as a Natural Monument for the Dinosaur Footprints of Ourém / Torres Novas (Dec Reg no. 12/96, of October 22)

Activity Program:
During the visit, you will be able to view a 17-minute film and perform an interpretive route where the Dinosaur Footprints can be found. This route is circular, composed of information panels and is about 1800m long

Study and Research Unit:
This deposit is one of the most important in the world record, presenting hundreds of organized sauropod footprints and two of these trails are among the longest known in the world, with 147 m and 142 m in length. This location allows to obtain a dynamic image of the locomotion of these quadrupeds, constituting a case of national geoconservation success.
