Travelling the Orvalho GeoRoute the Agua d’Alta Stream is crossed and there is a series of waterfalls in the Agua d’Alta cliff area, one of the 16 geomonuments of the Naturtejo Geopark, where water was stronger than rock. In the middle of a dense forest is an imposing waterfall, measuring 15m in height. It is evidence of the differentiated erosion that affected the less resistant layers and gave origin to the lithological quartzite steps. The melodious sounds of the water from the springs and the streams follow the visitor throughout the entire path, along the Serra do Moradal, the large quartzite wall that surges from the schist landscape. The energy spent during the ascent to the Cabeço Mosqueiro Lookout (666 metres) is compensated for with the magnificent landscape with a perspective over the elements of the Central Mountain Range: granite of the Serra da Gardunha and the Serra da Estrela; quartzite alignments of the Serra do Moradal; valley containing the meanders of the Zezere River, Alforfa glacial valley in the Serra da Estrela, Serra de Açor and Lousa.
