Trilho Geológico do Jardim Público de Beja, Beja

The Beja Public Garden Geological Trail prepared for the Beja Garden is one of the first of its kind ever developed in Portugal. This is a singular project that allows the presentation and valorisation of the significant geodiversity of the South Portugal Geological Units. The trail is opportunity to promote Geoscience contents in a didactic way, mainly for local schools. The Beja Geological Trail consists in a linear 200 m path, corresponding to a time interval of 1000 Ma. The trail was supported by QREN, CM Beja and the Atlanterra Interreg project, considering the partner experience interchange with the Irish Geological Survey, Copper Coast Geopark and Castlecomer Park Atlanterra partners. A Facebook page "Trilho Geológico" presents the trail information.
